Auroralites Dog Safety Collars

Brontecollar

This is a Photo of Bronte wearing her Safety Collar manufactured by Auroralites of Mississauga. She has been wearing her collar for a couple of months now and has been getting compliments every night she is out for her nightly walk around Oakville. The collar which is powered by a 9 volt battery provides high visibility up to 300m while at the dog park or while walking around you neighbourhood.

PHOTO of the WEEK

TorontobridgeThis is a Black and White image take of probably the most famous bridge in the Toronto Area. It is an image that is seen of TV and in magazines all over Ontario and the World. The bridge is located in the Beaches area of Toronto , just east of Sheldon's Lookout. It is a wonderful photo op and I would encourage anyone to make the trip to Toronto and take a few shots.

PHOTO of the WEEK

_dsc3601This is a early morning shot the the old pirate ship in Purdommes Landing near Vineland. This old ship was to be a family restaurant until vandals got to and set a fire. The ship still makes terrific place to take photos. See more abbeygraphic photos at www.patio3900.com

Illustration of house in acrylic

ChartwellThis house was a commissioned piece by the owner who built the traditional home in Oakville, Ontario and then sold and downsized. Such illustration gives the home more personality and feeling than a photograph. Working from a photograph of the house and then doing a pencil drawing straight onto the canvas is the first step. This way you can make sure you have everything in that is needed and it is easily to fix if needed. With a flat brush, my acrylics and palette, I start with the lightest colours and the most general area to cover is the exterior walls of the home. I mix the colours to match as close as possible. This image was only 11" x 14" so a small flat brush of 1/2" in diameter was used. I then work on the roof, paint in the shadows and then the garage. All highlights and details are done with a fine tip brush and steady hand. Once the driveway is painted I then go in with blocking out the colour for the trees in the background and then come in with the highlights and add detail in the leaves etc. All the leaves and plants in the foreground are done last. Basically it is a layered effect.

After the painting is dry I use a clear medium gell to protect it. Overall this painting took about 8 hours but depending on size and detail they take much longer.

Happy New Year!

Dsc03715_2What a beautiful Christmas we had. The weather was great and everyone ate too much.  This winter scene is our latest in our greeting card designs. Taken just after the big snowfall last weekend at the Paletta Mansion in Burlington. Send us an email if interested in any of our prints. We are looking forward to a great year in 2008. Best wishes to everyone.
